How it works
Russia offers world class education like countries such as Germany, UK, USA and co, but their fees are far cheaper. Studying in America and Canada can cost you up to $32,000 per year (both tuition fees and living cost). But to study in Russia, you will only spend about 10% of that.
Before we begin, you must first of all realize that Russia is not an English speaking country and as such, all foreigners are recommended to study the Russian language course for 1 year (2 years maximum) before beginning his/her degree program. Though this is not compulsory, however, studying Russian first before your degree course will also help you in getting a job and settling down in Russia. Life could be much easier in Russia if you can hear and speak Russian.

Once you are done with your language course and you start studying full-time, your visa will be changed to a student visa (Студенческая виза). As an International student, you are only allowed to work when you’re studying full-time. Students on language course visas are not allowed to work in Russia.
Scholarships do not exist in Russia. Anyone who needs a scholarship can apply for the Federal Govt Scholarship in their country, if Russia is in the list of approved countries for the scholarship.
